"A Safe Place To Ask Questions About Religious Faith"
Welcome to "Living Hope". This website is devoted to assisting all those men and women who might have doubts or questions about Christianity, but who don't know where to turn for help. If you have any questions about religion, faith, Christianity or the Bible...this is the place for you!
Please e-mail me at:
livinghopeforyou@gmail.com and I will respond to you as soon as possible. The only "dumb" question is the one we never ask!
My name is Brian Ewing. I am 51 years old and I have been a follower of Jesus Christ for about 24 years. There is an awful lot I don't know, but what I do know I will be glad to share with you. I have a doctorate in theology, I love to study the Bible, and the cry of my heart is to love God and to love my neighbor; Jesus said this is what matters most (Matthew 22:34-40). It is my mission to offer aid, encouragement and a listening ear to anyone who is searching for God. If you have a prayer request, as your brother in the Lord I will pray for you. I will not judge you, regardless of your situation or your convictions.
If you would like to "snail-mail" us, our ministry address is: Brian Ewing, Living Hope Ministries, 990 Hillcrest Street, Suite 104, Baldwin, WI 54002 (USA).
What is Christianity anyway? Here it is in summary: "That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9 NASB). And, "Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel...by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word... that Christ died for our sins...and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).
If you believe this, then we together are brothers and sisters in the family of Jesus Christ. A wise person has said: "In essentials unity; and in non-essentials charity".
A chief passion of my heart is to foster greater understanding and good will between people of all the Christian denominations. Yes, it is true that we each and all have our differing gifts and calls and weaknesses (1 Corinthians 12:4-24), and even our "pet" theological positions. Yet, all true-hearted believers in Jesus are ONE in Him, and thus ought to show such oneness by our LOVE for each other (read John 17:11-23)! Jesus said, "...love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another" (John 13:34,35).
Surely it is true that one of the worst scandals of contemporary Christendom is when as confessing members of Christ's Body we allow strife and disunity amongst us (it is SIN--1 Corinthians 1:9-13; 3:1-7; 11:17,18; Ephesians 4:1-6; Philippians 1:27,28; Titus 3:10,11; James 2:9). But let us not waste any of our time cursing the darkness, but instead start lighting some candles!
F R E E: Twice each month I prepare and send out a two- or three-page Bible study (via email) on various topics of our faith. If you would like to receive these, just send along your email address to me.
