Founded in August of 2008, we are a inter-denominational Christian counseling private-practice agency serving the men and women of Western Wisconsin.  

 

Our mission is to help people during their challenging times to find hope for living in the confidence that "God is love...God is good to all...and that with God all things are possible" (The Holy Bible, 1 John 4:8,16; Psalm 100:5; 145:8-20; Matthew 19:26).

 

In recent years most of our clients are individuals who are dealing with issues such as depression, physical illness, anger, loss of a loved one, substance abuse, PTSD, pornography, financial problems, and faith questions; or couples trying to save their marriages; or clergy members who are experiencing burn-out or other testing times.     

 

Living Hope Christian Counseling is located in The Hillcrest Office Building, on the northeast corner of Highway 63 and Hillcrest Street, at the northern edge of the Village of Baldwin.  Using the south-facing entrance, you will find us in the first office on your right.

Our standard fee is $50 for a one-hour counseling session.  For those wishing to make a donation, please note that because Living Hope is not a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we are not authorized to issue you a tax-deductible receipt. 

 

Some may ask this: Why attach the word "Christian" to the counseling process; what is Christianity anyway?  Here is one summary: "That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).  And, "Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel...by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word... that Christ died for our sins...and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). 

 

Here at Living Hope Christian Counseling our statement of faith is The Apostles' Creed.  Ever since at least as far back as the year A.D. 390 this is what Christians have believed and publicly confessed: 

 

"I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.  I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended to hell.  The third day He rose again from the dead.  He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.  From there He will come to judge the living and the dead.  I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.  Amen."

 

If you believe this with all your heart, then we are brothers and sisters together in the family of Jesus Christ, regardless of whatever else there is on which we may disagree.  A wise person has said: "In essentials unity; and in non-essentials charity".

 

Occasionally we receive requests for telephone counseling from people living at a far distance.  In urgent situations, we will do everything we can to help.  But in

general, however, we believe face-to-face counseling is best.  We recommend contacting The American Association of Christian Counselors to find one of their 50,000 qualified professionals in your vicinity.  Their website is: www.AACC.net.
